My first inclination was to give this post a screaming come-on title like WATCH FREE LEGAL ART HOUSE FILMS ON THE WEB!!! However, I was concerned that I'd get the wrong kind of traffic. But that's what a great new site called The Auteurs is offering - for a limited time only.
Oops.
Sorry, but I missed informing readers about Zeitgeist Films' and The Auteurs' internet "screening" of Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "Three Monkeys" (photo) on April 26. If you can bring yourselves to forgive me, they are also showing the director's 2006 film "Climates" through May 3 here (but only for people living in the United States and Portugal - the vagaries of international film distribution rights).
Apparently here in Europe I can watch - for a price anywhere from €2 to €5, which appears to be fair - certain recent and classic films from what appears to be a very impressive international, subtitled, collection. Again, not every film is viewable from every country.
